Transmission Infrastructure Procurement - Archive

The first stage of the SuperJANET5 Transmission Infrastructure procurement has commenced with the issue of a Prequalification questionnaire (PQQ).

This procurement is focused on the transmission infrastructure for SuperJANET5 and specifically on building a flexible transmission platform as outlined in the PQQ document. Sue Weston has been appointed as the Procurement Manager and a Procurement Panel, Operational Requirements Group and Requirement Definition Team have been formed. This procurement will be run according to the Negotiated European Procurement Procedure rules.

Suppliers should note that before submitting a proposal they must register their intent to do this with JANET(UK).

A Suppliers' briefing meeting was held on Thursday 4th November 2004  at the Oxford Hotel, Oxford . The briefing presentation given at this meeting is available ( .pdf )

As matters for clarification arise they will be answered by JANET(UK) and made available on this page. Suppliers that have registered their intent to submit a proposal will be notified each time this is updated.

Supplier 'Dating Agency'

JANET(UK) maintains a list of potential suppliers to SuperJANET5 (published below) who are interested in responding to the SuperJANET5 Prequalification Questionnaire, but would like to do so in partnership with another potential supplier. The 'Dating Agency' list allows suppliers seeking a partnership to advertise themselves anonymously.

If a supplier sees a potential match on the list then that supplier should request from JANET(UK) the contact details of the entry that they are interested in. JANET(UK) will then pass on contact details to the supplier that has requested them. The emphasis is then on the supplier to make contact with the potential match using the contact details provided by JANET(UK).

Suppliers using this facility must have registered their intent to submit a response to the SuperJANET5 prequalification questionnaire as detailed in the prequalification questionnaire document on this page.
