The procurement for Very High Speed Global Internet Transit Service has now been concluded. The two successful suppliers are TeliaSonera and Sprint - they will provide the global transit service for JANET from 30th August 2005. Each supplier will provide a connection at 10Gbit/s and in normal circumstances will share the load. In the event of a failure of one of the connections, the other connection will take the full load.
This procurement is for a global internet transit service with minimum access capacity of 10 Gbit/s ready for JANET(UK) use by 30 August 2005 .

As matters for clarification arise they will be answered by JANET(UK) and made available on this page. Suppliers that have registered their intent to submit a proposal will be notified each time this is updated.

Suppliers should note that before submitting a proposal they must register their intent to do this with JANET(UK).
