LOCATION INDEPENDENT NETWORKING

• Location Independent Networking is a concept that provides an infrastructure for a local or guest user to use their unique credentials to gain network access at both their home or a visited organisation, without minimal administrative burden or added complexity.

• Following the approval of the JISC Committee for Networking, the LIN trial transitioned into a full JANET service called JANET Roaming on May 2nd 2006.
