Further Education Colleges on JANET

The Further Education Funding Council for Wales (now the National Council for Education and Training for Wales, NCETW) became a full funding partner in the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) during 2000.
In preparation for this, all Welsh FE colleges with a JANET primary connection were upgraded to 2 Mbit/s to ensure that each college could take full advantage of the JISC services that were to be made available to them. JANET(UK) organised these upgrades in partnership with the JISC Regional Support Centre Wales.
The programme of connection upgrades commenced in January 2000 and was complete by autumn 2000.
