Netsight is a networking monitoring service developed by JANET(UK) to provide an easy to understand view of the status and performance of the JANET network to the end user.
General Information On JANET:
43 FE colleges are now connected to JANET via the Regional Network Operators. The connected institutions and current bandwidth are listed below:
AbMAN ( Aberdeen Metropolitan Area Network)
ClydeNET (sites in Glasgow and South-West Scotland )
EaStMAN ( Edinburgh and Stirling Metropolitan Area Network)
FaTMAN ( Fife and Tayside Metropolitan Area Network)
UHI ( University of Highlands and Islands Millennium Institute)
The 43 colleges were incorporated in 1993. Many of the colleges are multi-campus with outreach centres in neighbouring towns and specialist vocational training courses within or outside the main campus site.
