The Further Education (FE) colleges in the UK are entitled to be connected to JANET at between 4 - 100Mbit/s. All JANET services are available to connected colleges, and the range of services currently offered over JANET is being further developed to meet the specific requirements identified by the FE sector. To help colleges implement and upgrade data links beyond the main JANET connection, JANET(UK) provides the Multi-site Connectivity Advisory Service. The service is designed to provide advice and guidance to institutions wishing to connect or upgrade data links between campuses and to remote centres. Advice can be provided on technologies available and their suitability for the situation with the emphasis on identifying solutions and costing options. The service will also be able to put colleges in contact with expert advisors and suppliers and will publish technical information and case studies.
Colleges are encouraged to take advantage of training courses, workshops and conferences organised by JANET(UK), and make use of the publications available both via the JANET web site or in printed form.
Additionally, the SuperJANET infrastructure offers the opportunity to host content at core locations on the backbone network, using the Co-Location Service,and JANET(UK) is seeking to work with content providers to exploit these facilities for the benefit of the whole JANET community.
JANET(UK) has appointed two account managers, Paul Wakefield and Frances Neilson, who are responsible for liaising with FE colleges and their representative bodies and ensuring that the needs of the FE sector are met.

The JISC has also established Regional Support Centres (RSCs) in all areas of the UK. The RSCs provide advice and support on all areas of JISC activity, although initially priority was given to support for the provision of JANET connectivity.
